Academic Excellence Scholarship

Description

Applicant must have a minimum 3.75 GPA. Awarded to two of the top seniors from each accredited secondary school in Adams, Lawrence, Pike, and Scioto Counties, Ohio. FAFSA and letter of recommendation from a high school guidance counselor are required.

American Legion Post 23 Scholarship

Description

Applicant must have a minimum 2.0 GPA, be a resident of Scioto County or a member (or relative of a member) of Post 23. Preference given to those affiliated with Post 23. Copy of membership card must accompany application.

Aristech Scholarship

Description

Applicant must have good academic standing and character and be enrolled in a four-year program.

Dr. Sol Asch Scholarship

Description

Applicant must be enrolled at Shawnee State University. Minimum 3.5 GPA required.

Bank One Vern Riffe Scholarship

Description

Applicant must be a resident of Lawrence, Pike, or Scioto Counties, Ohio.

David G. Besco Memorial Scholarship

Description

Applicant must be a resident of Ohio majoring in teacher education with a concentration in mathematics. Minimum 3.5 GPA required.

Galen S. Besco Memorial Scholarship

Description

Applicant must be a resident of Ohio majoring in teacher education with a concentration in english at Shawnee State University. Minimum 3.5 GPA required.

Dr. J.R. Boynton Memorial Scholarship

Description

Applicant must be a resident of Scioto County currently enrolled in a four-year degree program. Minimum 3.25 GPA required.

Community Common Scholarship

Description

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from a zip code covered by the Community Common's area of circulation who has shown an interest in communication or journalism. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

Dow Chemical Co. Cultural Diversity Scholarship

Description

Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be a member of an ethnic minority group. Preference is given to local students, but all students are encouraged to apply.

Betty C. Edwards Nursing Scholarship

Description

Applicant must be a resident of Amas or Scioto County, OH pursuing an associate or bachelors degree in nursing full-time. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

Faculty-Funded Scholarship

Description

Applicant must have finished at least 24 credit hours with a minimum 3.5 GPA and not be a current or previous recipient of the award. Financial need is considered.
