Aubrey Lee Brooks Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of one of the following North Carolina counties: Alamance, Bertie, Caswell, Durham, Forsyth, Granville, Guilford, Orange, Person, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, Swain, or Warren. Selection is based upon academic standing, character, leadership, financial need, and applicant's willingness to prepare for a career as a well-informed citizen. Two letters of recommendation and a personal statement required.
Navy League Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen who is the dependent or direct descendant of an active, reserve, retired or honorably discharged member of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, U.S.-flag Merchant Marine, or U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. Applicant must be a high school senior graduating this year and who plans to enter an accredited college or university this coming fall. Minimum 3.0 GPA and financial need required.
North Carolina Bar Association Scholarship

Applicant must be the child or step-child (under the age of 27) of a slain or permanently disabled North Carolina law enforcement officer. Selection is based upon financial need and merit. Award amount varies as it is based on many factors, including the amount available for awards, the number of applicants, cost of tuition, living arrangements and other sources of funding.

Exemption for Dual-Enrolled Students

Applicant must be enrolled in a dual-credit program at a Texas public junior or community college and be attending a Texas high school operated by a school district that has an agreement with that college.
Border County Doctoral Faculty Education Loan Repayment

Applicant must be a faculty member at a Texas college or university that borders Mexico. Applicant must have received a doctoral degree on or after September 1, 1994 from an accredited U.S. college or university, and must commit to remaining employed full-time for at least one academic year. Applicant must be nominated by his or her college or university president.
Blind and Deaf Student Exemption

Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent, demonstrate high moral character, meet entrance requirements for Texas public colleges/universities, and submit certification of deafness or blindness from the appropriate state vocational rehabilitation agency.
Children of Disabled or Deceased Firemen, Peace Officers, Game Wardens, and Employees of Correctional Institutions Tuition Exemption

Applicant must be a Texas resident who is the child of a deceased or disabled fireman, paid municipal, county or state peace officer, a custodial employee of the Department of Corrections or game warden (paid or volunteer), who died or was disabled in the line of duty while serving Texas. Applicant must be under age 21 (age 22 if eligible for a school district's special education program) and attend a public college or university in Texas.
Children of U.S. Military who are Missing in Action or Prisoners of War (MIA/POWs) Exemption

Applicant must be a Texas resident who is the dependent child of a Texas resident who is a POW or MIA; proof of parent's status from the Department of Defense is required. Applicant must attend a public college or university in Texas, and be under 21 years of age or under 25 years of age if majority of financial support is from parent.

Applicant must rank in the top 3% of class and have a minimum composite ACT score of 32 (combined minimum SAT I score of 1420).
